Residents' Guide to Attracting Wildlife with Native Plants
The Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program is proud to introduce the first in a series of booklets for residents of the estuary with information about ecologically friendly land-use and homeowner practices.
The first installment of the Residents' Guide series, "Attracting Wildlife with Native Plants," explains the concept of the "urban forest" and why gardening and landscaping with Louisiana native plants can be so beneficial to wildlife. In it you will discover many species of plants native to the estuary that are ideal for attracting birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, and myriad other wildlife.
